Interior wall graphics, window film and printed soft goods for Aviva Insurance

Aviva Insurance's interiors carry wall graphics, window graphics and custom printed pillows produced by IAC. The flat work runs UV-LED cured onto 3M and Firmatac media, chosen for predictable behaviour on painted drywall and glass, and for clean removal at the end of a tenancy.

What the job demanded

Graphics inside a working office are judged from reading distance. People pass them every day under a mix of daylight and ceiling lighting, so a lifted corner, a silvered bubble or a mismatched seam is noticed immediately. Painted drywall is rarely as flat as it looks: joint compound, orange-peel texture and older latex paint all affect how an adhesive film sits and how cleanly it releases later. Glass sets a separate brief again, because film has to read from both sides, manage sightlines without darkening the floor, and survive routine cleaning. Printed soft goods add a third problem, since fabric and vinyl return light differently and have to be brought into agreement before either one goes into production.

How it was produced

The flat graphics were printed UV-LED, meaning the ink is cured by ultraviolet light-emitting diodes the moment it lands rather than being left to dry off. Prints come off the machine touch-dry, dimensionally stable and ready to laminate or cut the same day, and the low heat of the process suits thin films that would distort under older mercury-lamp curing. 3M media covers the wall and window work, where a conformable film and a matched adhesive give controlled tack, room to reposition during application and clean removal at end of life. Firmatac media handles the pressure-sensitive elements that need a firmer bond on less-than-perfect substrates. Panel layouts were planned so joins fall on architectural lines, and the printed pillows were built from the same approved colour so the soft and hard elements agree in the room.
